Main History of the Congregation
 
1851
 The Congregation founded in Germany by Wilhelm von
  Ketteler, Bishop of Mainz, and Stephanie Amelia
  Starkenfels de la Roche.
1868
  The first Mother House built in Mainz and German Community
  divided by three provinces(Mainz, Oberursel, and
  Aschaffenbugh)till 2001.
1876
  American Community settled in Pittsburgh and became as
  three Provinces (Pittsburgh, St. Louise, and Kingston)
  till 2001.
1931
  Sisters from Pittsburgh of America, the ministry
  began for Puerto Rico Community.
1961
  Peru Community began in 1961 by six German Sisters.
1966
  Three American Sisters began Korean Community
  after the first group of Korean Sisters made their first
  vows in Rome.
1993
  The multi-cultural mission community started by Sisters
  came from three Provinces(Germany, America,
  and Puerto Rico) in Santo Domingo, Republic of Dominica.
2001
  Three Provinces of German merged as one (=Kettler Province)
  three Provinces of America also merged in one
  (=La Roche Province) 
 
 
 
History of St. Joseph Province (KOREA) 
 
After Sister Mary Kenneth, Co-Director of General Superior and Sister Natalie visited  Korea in 1963, 13
young women invited by Reverend Oh, Ghisun in Taejon Diocese began their formation as aspirants in
Rome, Italy in January, 1964. Sister Natalie was appointed as the Director of Novices and Reverend Bak,
Namick became their Spiritual Director. Since Sr. Victorine Verosky with two other Sisters from Pittsburgh, USA
had opened the first Korean community in Jongdong, Seoul in 1966, making God’s Providence visible in our
world, 140 Sisters work in Parishes of 8 Dioceses including foreign areas, schools, kindergartens and day
care centers, a retreat center and institutions of  social work, and a hospital.
 
1964.1
  13 young women began their formation as aspirants in Rome,
  Italy.

  Sister Victorine Verosky, the first Director of the Korean
  Community, Sister Mary Albert from USA and Sister Narssisa
  from Germany came to Korea.

  The Korean Community in Jongdong, Seoul was began with
  one candidate.

  Purchased and moved in to the Mother House of Korean
  Region in Songwol-Dong, Inchon City.

  Consecration of the Mother House of Korean Region in
  Songwol-Dong, Inchon City.

  The first ministry as a nurse in Inchon City Hospital.

  The first parish ministry in Haean in Inchon Dioces.

  For the first time, 12 Sisters professed their Final Vows
  in Korea.

  The first educational  ministry as a teacher in Soungsin
  Girl's High Shool

  The elevation of St. Joseph Region.
  Sister Victorine Verosky was appointed as the first Regional

  Organizing the Divine Providence Family.

  The opening of the ministry of social welfare - the first mission
  of the support organization for the juvenile detention in
  Inchon Dioces.

  New construction and consecration of the Mother House
  of Korean Region in Songwol-Dong, Inchon City.

  Appointment of the Consultant Committee of St. Joshep
  Region.

  Open a free clinic in the Mother House.

  Approval a license of the free clinic named 'Providence Clinic'

  The first Regional Chapter of St. Joseph Region.

  Sister Park, Pyung Ja was appointed as the third Regional
  Superior.

  Moving and consecration of the Mother House to Kyonggi-do
  HwaSung-shi Pongdam-eup Wangnim-ri 220.

  Close the Providence Clinic.

  Celebrating the 25th anniversary of St. Joshep Region.

  Sister Jung, Ae Sook was appointed as the forth Regional
  Superior.

  Delegate a representative of St. Joshep Region to the
  Genearl House in Rome.

  To start the perish mission in Chicago, USA for a Korean
  Community.

  Open the 'Providence Day care center' in Songwol-Dong,
  Inchon Dioces.

  Undertaking a nursing home, "Aeduck Family" in Joam,
  HwaSung-shi, in Suwon Diocese

  As students Sisters enrolled in La Roche College Pittsburgh,
  Pennsylvania, USA.

  The first service of "Free meals kitchen" and  
  "Loving neighbor Daycare Center"in Songwol-Dong, Inchon.

  To start a building of "Providence kindergarten"
  belonged to St. Joshep Region.

  Being promoted to St. Joshep Province after the third
  Regional Chapter.
  Sister Jung, Ae Sook was appointed as the first Provincial
  Superior.

  The first Provincial Chapter of St. Joseph.

  Sister Yang, In Sook was appointed as the second
  Provincial Superior.

  Sister Jung, Ae Sook was elected and appointed as
  the General Council for the first time.

  The start a new building of 'Providence Day care center'
  and Remodeling the old Mother house in Songwol-dong,
  Inchon City.

  Completion of 'Providence Day care center'

  Start a new building of Shin-nam "Damul Retreat
  Center" and a Convent in  Chunchon Dioces

  Consecration of "Loving neighbor Daycare Center" and 
  "Providence short term care Center" from reconstruction
  of the old Mother house in Songwol-dong, Inchon City.

  "Providence Home" of a mental rehabilitation center was
  opened in Taejon Diocese.

  A Sister was sent to the International Community
  of Santa Domingo.

  "Damul Retreat Center" was completed and opened.

  "Providence sharing house" was opened in the Mother
  house territory.

  "Providence Day care Center" was reconstructed
  and opened.

  Enlargement of the "Providence short term care Center"
  to "Providence senior welfare center"

  The second Provincial Chapter of St. Joseph Province.

  Sister Sue, Jae Sook was appointed as the third
  Provincial Superior.

  Celebrating the 40th anniversary of establishment 
  of St. Joseph Korean Community.

  Celebrating the 157th anniversary of the Foundation Day.
